WoW Forever Elemental Shaman Build

A 21/0/0 caster build that speeds up Lightning Bolt, strengthens Flame Shock and fire totems, and takes Lava Burst with the last point at level 30.

21 / 0 / 0Level 30 · 21 pointsUpdated 31 October 2026 · Beta 1.60.1, hotfixes to 30 Oct

The talent trees still change between beta builds. We re-check this build on launch day (4 November 2026).

Talent descriptions come from the game client files (build 1.60.1.70707). Some talent values are applied by the game server and can differ in game; ranks marked as Classic Era data are not in the Forever client yet. The trees include the beta's server hotfixes (as of 2026-10-30) from the talentsforever.com data export (CC BY 4.0); icons and names come from the game files.

Talent order by level

  1. 10–14Concussion×5
  2. 15–17Elemental Alacrity×3
  3. 18–19Call of Flame×2
  4. 20Elemental Focus
  5. 21Call of Flame
  6. 22–24Convection×3
  7. 25–26Trial by Fire×2
  8. 27–29Eye of the Storm×3
  9. 30Lava Burst

Alternatives

  • Lightning Overload 1 instead of Lava Burst at 30: most planned builds on talentsforever take it first. Only 1 of 3 ranks fits at 21 points, so Lava Burst is the stronger single point.
  • Kiting: Earthbound 1 and Trial by Fire 1 instead of Trial by Fire 2. Earthbind Totem then roots nearby enemies for 5 sec.
  • More mana: Convection 5 instead of Trial by Fire 2, as in the most popular talentsforever order.
  • Talented Legacy perk (+5 points): Lightning Overload 3, then a point in Elemental Reach or Elemental Fury.

Rotation & priority

  1. Before the pull: Lightning Shield, plus Searing Totem (one target) or Magma Totem (packs).
  2. Pull with Lava Burst, then Flame Shock right away.
  3. Keep Flame Shock on the target and cast Lava Burst every time it is ready.
  4. Lightning Bolt as filler.
  5. Packs: Magma Totem in melee range, Fire Nova on cooldown, Chain Lightning when mana allows.

Stat priority

  1. Spell Damage
  2. Crit
  3. Spell hit (more important at higher levels)
  4. Intellect
  5. Spirit

How the build works

This Elemental Shaman build mixes lightning and fire. Concussion adds 5% damage to Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning and Earth Shock. Elemental Alacrity cuts 0.5 seconds from Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning and Lava Burst, which is the biggest increase in damage per second you can buy early.

Call of Flame adds 15% to Flame Shock, Fire Nova, Lava Burst and your fire totems, and makes Flame Shock last 9 seconds longer. That matters because Lava Burst, the level-30 point, deals 20% more damage while your Flame Shock is on the target. Trial by Fire adds 20% to Fire Nova, cuts its cooldown by 4 seconds and keeps Magma Totem up 20 seconds longer, which gives you real AoE for packs.

Mana is the weak point, so three talents cover it. Convection makes your Shocks, Lightning Bolt, Lava Burst and Chain Lightning 6% cheaper, Elemental Focus gives a 10% chance that your next damage spell is free, and Eye of the Storm gives your main nukes a 70% chance to ignore pushback when mobs hit you.

Leveling tips

Concussion and Elemental Alacrity come first, so Lightning Bolt hits harder and casts faster by level 17. Call of Flame and Elemental Focus follow around 20. Rest when you need to: running out of mana mid-pull is the usual way Elemental leveling goes wrong.

Pull with Lightning Bolt until 30, then with Lava Burst. Chain Lightning may not be trainable until 32. In dungeons, Magma Totem and Fire Nova handle packs, but watch your threat.

Changes in WoW Forever

Elemental was rebuilt on 15 Oct: Lava Burst moved to row 5, Elemental Mastery returned as the capstone, Lightning Mastery became Elemental Alacrity, Improved Fire Nova became Trial by Fire, and Earthbound is new. On 23 Oct the Lava Burst bonus with Flame Shock was cut to 20%. Lightning Overload now requires Elemental Alacrity. Talent text here comes from client build 70630 without later hotfixes, checked against a hotfixed calculator by our research, so small number changes are still possible.

Toward level 60

Data for 60 is thin. The most-planned build is about 33/7/11, with Lightning Overload, Elemental Fury, Elemental Reach and Elemental Mastery in Elemental, but only one source lists it, and not every point. Treat it as provisional.

FAQ

What is the best Elemental Shaman build in WoW Forever?

At level 30: Concussion 5, Elemental Alacrity 3, Call of Flame 3, Elemental Focus, Convection 3, Trial by Fire 2, Eye of the Storm 3 and Lava Burst as the 21st point.

Is Elemental good for leveling?

It works, but mana runs out quickly and Clearcasting procs are unreliable. Enhancement is the more common leveling choice, and Elemental is the least-planned shaman leveling tree.

What stats does an Elemental Shaman need?

Spell Damage first, then crit, then spell hit as you level, then Intellect and Spirit. A one-hand weapon and shield is usually best.

What does the Talented Legacy perk change?

It adds up to 5 points. Elemental players spend them on all 3 ranks of Lightning Overload, then Elemental Reach or Elemental Fury.
