Entrance

At the southern edge of the Barrens, right on the border with Thousand Needles. Horde players come down from Camp Taurajo; Alliance players usually approach from Thousand Needles or Theramore.

Overview

Razorfen Downs lies close to the Kraul and was once the quilboar’s most sacred burrow. The Scourge has since corrupted it: the lich Amnennar the Coldbringer leads the death’s head cultists, and quilboar now serve him as undead minions while he plans to raise a new army in Kalimdor.

It is a compact dungeon with tight tunnels, a gong-summoned spider and a ritual escort. Both factions get quests here, making it a good stop in the late 30s before moving on to Uldaman and Zul’Farrak.

Route

Talk to Belnistrasz at the start, clear the path through the thorny burrows, and do his idol escort when you are ready. Tuten’kash is summoned by the gong along the way. Deeper in you meet Mordresh Fire Eye and Glutton; Ragglesnout is a rare spawn. The path ends at Amnennar on top of the hill at the end of the dungeon.

  • Start the Belnistrasz escort only when everyone is at full health and mana; the waves come fast.
  • The gong for Tuten'kash is loud - clear the area around it before ringing.
  • Lots of undead here: priests, paladins and mages with crowd control on undead have an easier time.
