Overview
When the Atal’ai trolls tried to summon Hakkar the Soulflayer into Azeroth, the Aspect of Life sank their temple into the Swamp of Sorrows. The trolls never gave up: they still perform their rituals in the drowned halls, while green dragons led by the corrupted Eranikus guard the temple to keep Hakkar from returning.
The Sunken Temple is a multi-level ring of balconies and a central pit, with an optional statue puzzle and a summoning ritual. It is a big dungeon for the late 40s and early 50s, and it is also where several class quests from that era send players.
Route
Enter at the top and work around the balconies, killing the Atal’ai defenders to break the barrier to Jammal’an the Prophet. The dragonkin Weaver, Dreamscythe, Hazzas and Morphaz guard the upper and lower ledges, with the Shade of Eranikus at the bottom. Atal’alarion is an optional puzzle boss in the lower ring, and the Avatar of Hakkar only appears if someone runs the ritual for The God Hakkar.
