Razorfen Kraul

A maze of giant thorny vines in the southern Barrens, the heart of quilboar territory ruled by the crone Charlga Razorflank. For both factions around level 25-35.

Entrance

In the far south of the Barrens, close to the border with Thousand Needles. Horde players ride down from Camp Taurajo; Alliance players usually come from Theramore or along the road from Ratchet.

Overview

Razorfen Kraul is a sprawling quilboar settlement grown inside the roots of a gigantic bramble said to be the remains of the demigod Agamaggan. Charlga Razorflank, a cunning crone, rules the warrens and has made dark alliances to strengthen her tribe.

The instance is a series of open, twisting thorn tunnels with lots of quilboar and their beasts. Both factions have quests here from all over Kalimdor, which makes it a natural stop in the late 20s and early 30s.

Route

Fight down from the entrance past Roogug and Aggem Thorncurse, then through the larger quilboar camps. Death Speaker Jargba and Overlord Ramtusk hold the middle of the kraul, Agathelos the Raging is in his pen off to the side, and Charlga waits at the bottom. Willix the Importer is held captive near the end, so start his escort when you are close to finishing.

    Roogug

    A quilboar geomancer near the start. Casts earth magic and calls on helpers; a short fight.

    Aggem Thorncurse

    A quilboar mystic with a pet boar spirit. Interrupt his healing so the fight does not stall.

    Death Speaker Jargba

    A death-cult shaman who can mind control a group member. Be ready to crowd control or wait out the controlled player instead of killing them.

    The quilboar war leader, guarded by his warriors. Pull the guards away first, then focus him.

    Agathelos the Raging

    A colossal boar held in a pen. He goes into a rage and charges around, so the tank should stay ready to pick him back up.

    Charlga Razorflank

    The crone who rules the kraul, at the far end. She heals herself and casts chain lightning - interrupt her heals and spread a little.

    Escort a captured goblin out of the thorn maze to safety.

    Use a trained snuffling gopher to dig up blueleaf tubers buried in the kraul.

    Recover a pendant that belonged to Heraltha's lost relative, carried by the quilboar.

Razorfen Kraul — Level 1

  • The paths through the thorns double back on themselves; follow the main ramp down towards Charlga.
  • Willix is near the end - start his escort after clearing the area around him so you are not ambushed on the way out.
  • Quilboar geomancers and mystics in trash packs heal and buff - kill or crowd control them first.
