WoW Forever camping guide: campfires, camp objects and Blueprints

How camping works in WoW Forever: campfire kits, the camp object of every profession with skill and materials, Blueprint drops and the best picks for leveling.

Camping is one of the biggest new systems in World of Warcraft: Forever. Cooking builds a campfire, every other profession builds an object that sits next to it, and resting at the camp gives you a buff for an hour. This guide lists every camp object in the launch client with its skill and exact materials, plus what is known so far about effects and Blueprint drops.

Recipes, skill levels and materials below come from the Forever game files (build 1.60.1.70790). Buff values, cooldowns and drop sources come from early community guides and may still change.

How camping works

  • Cooking makes the fire. Every camp starts with a campfire crafted by a cook.
  • Every profession has three camp objects in a new “Camping” recipe category: tier 1 at skill 20, tier 2 at skill 140 and tier 3 at skill 300. This includes gathering and secondary professions, so a Herbalism/Skinning character can contribute just as much as a crafter.
  • Tier 1 is taught by the trainer. Tiers 2 and 3 are taught by items called Blueprint: … (for example Blueprint: Anvil).
  • Optional intro quests (reported as “The Great Outdoors” and “Camping 101”) walk new characters through their first camp in the starting zones.

Rules reported so far

  • One camp object per player.
  • All camp features share one 1-hour cooldown.
  • Sit at the fire for about 1 minute to receive a buff that lasts 1 hour.
  • Camp buffs do not stack with the matching class buffs.

Campfire kits

Campfire Cooking skill Material Taught by Object slots
Basic Campfire 1 1 Simple Wood Trainer 3
Journeyman Campfire 95 1 Star Wood Blueprint: Journeyman Campfire 5
Expert Campfire 205 1 Thick Logs Blueprint: Expert Campfire 10

Skill and materials are from the game files; the slot numbers are from early guides. A bigger fire matters for groups and raids: with a Basic Campfire only three players can add their object.

Blueprint drops (tier 2)

Early guides report these tier-2 Blueprint sources. Boss and dungeon names match the game files; the drops themselves are community reports.

The Expert Campfire Blueprint and all tier-3 Blueprints had no confirmed source as of 7 November 2026. We will add them once they are found.

Tips for leveling

  • Get a Camp Tent. Rested experience is the strongest leveling effect in the system, and the tent only needs Leatherworking 20 and 5 Light Leather. If you are not a leatherworker, ask one in your group to bring it.
  • Every character can cook. Cooking is a secondary profession, so anyone can carry a Basic Campfire. Keep a few Simple Wood in your bags.
  • Plan around the cooldown. Because all camp features share a 1-hour cooldown, a quick camp at the start of a session or before a dungeon gives the best value.
  • Pick objects that do not overlap with your group’s class buffs. A Stamina or Intellect object adds nothing if a priest or mage already buffs you.
  • Gatherers are not left out. Herbalism, Mining and Skinning each have their own objects, and the tier-2 Rock Garden and Greenhouse produce materials over time.
  • Run the low-level new dungeons. Several tier-2 Blueprints drop in Ruins of Lordaeron, Excavation Site: Wetlands and City of Dalaran, which you will visit while leveling anyway.

Questions & answers

How do I start camping in WoW Forever?
Learn Cooking and craft a Basic Campfire. It is a trainer recipe at Cooking skill 1 and costs a single Simple Wood. Once the fire is down, you and your group can place camp objects next to it.
How many camp objects fit around a campfire?
According to early guides, a Basic Campfire holds 3 camp objects, a Journeyman Campfire 5 and an Expert Campfire 10. Each player can place only one object.
Which professions have camp objects?
All twelve. Every primary, gathering and secondary profession (including Herbalism, Mining, Skinning, Fishing and First Aid) has three camp objects at skill 20, 140 and 300. Cooking builds the campfires themselves.
Where do I get camping Blueprints?
Tier-1 objects come from the trainer. Tier-2 Blueprints are reported to drop from dungeon bosses, for example Blueprint: Repair Bot from Sneed in The Deadmines. Sources for the Expert Campfire and all tier-3 Blueprints were not known as of 7 November 2026.
Do camp buffs stack with class buffs?
No. Early guides report that a camp buff does not stack with the matching class buff, so a camp object that gives the same stat as a buff you already have adds nothing.
What is the best camp object for leveling?
The Camp Tent from Leatherworking. It reportedly grants rested experience (up to 5% of a level per hourly use) and only costs 5 Light Leather at skill 20.
